Great service, Carl in the service department sends an email right back to me when I have questions almost immediately. When I have requested service, it is usually timely. A few times I was not charged for mobile service and then without notification, I was, but when I inquired with management, it was waived for only an additional time. Josh the St. Pete Gulfport Manager waived it for me and I appreciate it since it was almost $300. I now understand there is a charge. I will be bringing my boat in for bottom painting this Friday. MarineMax was able to grant this request within a week. Again, Carl has been great about communicating with me to make arrangements to bring in my SeaRay and stated it will take about a week. That’s reasonable since I can’t use the boat during the week due to work and can do without it this weekend. The only issue I have with MarineMax is pricing. They are a little high for the 100 hour service, but just by a little; however, that’s gas money ($900 v $700 I paid for my 200 hr. with another company). For the bottom paint job, I was quoted $2300 and another competitor was $2000 but could not get it done until late August. Update, just had bottom paint job done within the time specified and looks great. Hopefully it does it’s job and anti-fouls well. Price was the exact quoted. I’ll see in a few weeks. Didn’t realize Carl had already left MarineMax when I went to pick up my boat and saw Ben Tenney there, who is also awesome with communication and needs. He was able to get me out the door and out to sea. Thanks, guys and MM!

Our boat has had some issues. Sea Ray had Marinemax of Pensacola get the boat from our very secure dry storage facility in Niceville that can withstand Category 3 hurricane and as you could probably guess stored it outside uncovered. Marinemax called last Thursday at 2PM and told us that the boat had tipped off the rack due to "high winds". We checked and the highest winds we saw that day was about 40 mph gusts. How that could knock over a 7,000lb boat that was properly placed on a bunk is beyond me. We asked what time they had discovered the boat and they said 9AM.......so why didn't they call us earlier? They hadn't covered the boat, they didn't put any side supports on the boat. They didn't try and put the boat inside their dry storage facility. They didn't care. They did however care about my insurance carrier, the first question they asked was "who's your insurance carrier? Can we contact them directly?" Please let our story be a cautionary tale to all of you. Stay away from Marinemax. BTW no other boats except for ours were tipped over. Notice the boat next to ours with the side supports. Marinemax was done with the testing of the boat 3 days prior to the tropical storm hitting. They could've brought my boat back to my marina where it would've been protected, or put side supports on or God forbid put the boat in their dry storage facility. Instead they didn't care. #marinemax
